This 2 1/4 inch muffler clamp is one of the common sizes we supply for exhaust systems. It works for joining pipes or securing a muffler in place. Nothing too fancy — just a solid U-bolt with a saddle, meant to keep things tight enough so you don’t get leaks or rattles.
We usually make it in mild steel, galvanized steel, or stainless steel. Each material has its trade-offs:
Mild steel is affordable and easy to work with, though it can rust over time.
Galvanized or aluminized steel lasts longer against corrosion, but the coating may wear off under extreme heat.
Stainless steel holds up best, though it costs more.
The 5/16" rod gives decent clamping force without deforming the pipe if you tighten it properly. Just remember — like all U-bolt clamps, if you over-tighten it, it can leave small marks on thinner tubing.
We clean and deburr each piece before packing, and if you have a specific surface finish or bolt length in mind, we can adjust that.
