*Corrugated diaphragm is a type of thin-shell elastic element. The diaphragm is a circular, membrane-shaped, flexible sensing component. When different pressures (or forces) are applied to both sides of the diaphragm, it deforms toward the side with lower pressure, causing its center to produce a displacement that corresponds proportionally to the pressure difference.
Due to the large number of interrelated parameters, the design of a corrugated diaphragm is quite complex. In most displacement-based instruments and meters, the diaphragm is required to produce an elastic displacement that is at least on the same order of magnitude as its thickness. The diaphragm thickness is selected based on the magnitude of the applied pressure.
