Why do different brands show different dimensions for the same OE number?
This is fairly common in the automotive parts industry. Some brands measure the inside diameter with the clamp tightened, while others record the inside or outside diameter in its free state. Some listings may instead use the overall span. Different measurement points and clamp conditions naturally produce different numbers.
Parts developed from physical samples may also show slight dimensional variation due to sample batches, manufacturing tolerances, and reproduction processes. Rounding practices differ as well. Some brands round to the nearest 0.5 mm, while others use the nearest whole millimeter.
Dimension differences therefore do not automatically indicate fitment problems. Before comparing two values, confirm that both were taken from the same position and under the same clamp condition.
Which dimension is correct for OE 171367: 54 mm, 59 mm, 60 mm, or 61 mm?
All of these values may come from actual measurements, but they may refer to different points. A 54 mm value may represent a smaller inside diameter after tightening. Figures of 59 mm or 60 mm may refer to the free-state inside diameter, while 61 mm may come from an outside dimension or maximum span in the free state.
Our recorded 61 mm dimension is based on a physical measurement taken according to an internal standardized method. To compare it with another brand's data, the measurement point should also be confirmed. A dimensioned reference image can be provided to show exactly where the value was taken.
Why do you currently offer only five models when other OE variants are available?
The current page lists five products that have already been developed from physical samples and had their specifications confirmed: OE 171352, 171353, 171366, 171367, and 171369. Rather than increasing the model count too quickly, we place more importance on accurate dimension records, production consistency, and stable repeat supply.
Other OE clamps can also be evaluated when you provide an original sample or a fully dimensioned drawing. Development plans are reviewed according to product structure, material, forming process, and tooling requirements. Tooling cost, MOQ, and lead time need to be confirmed separately for each project.
How can I confirm whether the listed dimension fits my application?
The most reliable starting point is the OE number on the existing part rather than the listed dimension alone. Clamps with similar appearances may still correspond to different mounting positions, joint profiles, or tightening ranges.
Where the OE number is not enough, provide the critical dimension and clearly indicate the measurement point. We can measure the available product and compare the result with your sample, installation dimensions, or reference photos. Confirming these details before ordering helps reduce incorrect model selection and return issues.
Will a difference of a few millimeters affect clamp fitment?
Whether it affects fitment depends on why the numbers differ. If one value represents inside diameter and another represents outside diameter, or if one is taken in the free state and the other after tightening, a difference of several millimeters does not necessarily mean the clamp will not fit.
Bolt adjustment may also provide a limited tightening range, but this range is not unlimited. Joint profile, formed band shape, bolt length, and installation position also affect fitment. For this reason, not every 2–5 mm difference can be treated as harmless, and suitability should not be judged from one number alone.
Other suppliers offer similar reproduction parts at lower prices. Is the quality the same?
Products with similar appearances may still differ in cost and actual performance. Price differences commonly come from steel grade, band thickness, bolt and nut configuration, surface treatment, dimensional control, inspection method, and packaging requirements.
Standard zinc plating, Dacromet coating, and e-coating involve different processing costs. Sampling inspection and piece-by-piece inspection also create different quality-control costs. When comparing similar OE clamps, review material, dimensions, surface finish, assembly details, and batch consistency together with unit price.
Can you match a dimension listed by another brand?
Yes, but the listed value and its exact measurement point need to be provided together. A single number does not show whether it refers to inside diameter, outside diameter, overall span, or a tightened dimension.
We can measure the corresponding position on the available product and provide the actual result. However, when measurement methods differ, we will not change our published value simply to match another brand's listing. Product dimensions should be based on a clearly defined measurement point and physical measurement.
What is the usual process for developing a new OE clamp?
Development begins with an original sample or a fully dimensioned drawing. After receiving the reference, we evaluate product structure, material, forming process, and tooling feasibility. Unit price, tooling cost, MOQ, and expected lead time are then confirmed according to the actual production requirements.
A pre-production sample is normally made for dimensional and fitment approval before mass production begins. Typical development may take two to four weeks, depending on part structure, tooling difficulty, and sample approval progress.
